I am looking to buy a car soon and an torn between the two. One is a 2008 acura rl with 58k miles for 18.5 and the the other is a 2009 acura tl Tech with 51k miles for about 20 which would be the better deal can anyone tell me any differences in why one would.be better than the other or suggestions... also there was another 2008 RL i was considering that had 74k miles fir 15.5.

It all depends on what you want. TL vs RL = sporty luxury vs luxury sport. Honestly, you need to test drive both. Is either RL a tech or CMBS? Here is a breakdown from a thread about the TL being better than the RL.
Better is a subjective term that cannot be measured by any factual data so let's get that out of the way. Also, it should be clarified if we are talking about 3rd gen or 4th gen TLs. Let's assume both compared to 2nd gen and MMC RLs.
Here are some quick thoughts, mostly facts.
- The TL is quicker. It weighs typically 200 lbs less than an RL and has an available 6MT. Both have speed limiters so neither is faster overall, but the TL has a sportier suspension so it should be faster in corners (assuming both have SH-AWD).
- The RL is more luxurious. More wood grain, more bells and whistles, and a more luxurious ride.
- The TL sells MUCH more volume, probably due to a lower price tag. However, this makes the RL much more exclusive. You rarely see RLs.
- As a result of ^, the TL has much more mod options b/c of the wider customer base.
- The RL SH-AWD is standard and has been since 2005.
- The TL transmission seems to have common issues, and I have yet to see a handful of RLs with transmission issues.
- The RL is completely manufactured and assembled in Saitama, Japan. The TL is 70% manufactured (I believe) in the US and assembled in Ohio.
All that said, the RL is better than the TL.
