Question About to purchase 2002 RL, good deal?

Just put a deposit on a 2002 RL, Silver w/black interior. Car has 128k miles on it but the car was single owner. Timing belt and water pump have already been replaced. I'm purchasing out of state from an Acura dealership. They have all the service records for the car. I got them down to $9800. Is this a good deal? I know the mileage is a bit high for only being 5 years old, but I was thinking getting a 2002 with a bit more mileage rather than a 99/2000 with less mileage. I usually don't like to buy anything based on just photos, but I felt that since an Acura dealer is selling the car, the car should be in pretty good condition. Your thoughts?

Seems like a good deal (at least according to KBB). You probably already know that the RL is a champ--it's just broken-in .

IMHO, just think about it long and hard; do you really want such a high mileage car?

That is always the thing when I tell people I just bought a used high mileage Honda product for thousands of dollars, they look at me like I'm crazy. But to me, it's really not a big deal. The car will be primarily driven by my wife 16 miles round trip to work. She has a 2000 VW Beetle which is a piece of junk. She bought it brand new in 99 and now it has 85k miles on the clock yet I have absolutely no confidence in the car. And for how much I've paid to get that thing fixed, I might as well own an RL.

My thinking with the 2002 is that while I know the miles might be more than what I could get in a 99 or 2000, here in PA the road conditions and salt are just as important. What is going to hurt me more, having 20k miles more on the car or the potential for the body as well as other suspension parts to wear and rust out? I still have my 93 Acura Vigor with 223k on the original engine, but the body is rusting out so bad that it will probably have holes in it before the engine is too tired to go any more. I've done a lot of reading on here about the RL, and it seems to be a solid, extremely refined car. Since I wanted used, and I wanted Honda, it seemed to be the only logical option. I do not want to be taking a chance on a Accord/TL/CL/anything J-series with the 5 speed tranny, just heard too many horror stories about those trannies failing. So when you take away the used Honda's with the 5 speed automatic, you're left with Civic, RL, 1 gen TL, or 5 gen Accord. I figured the RL would be the nicest of the bunch.
