Replaced windshield, found rust around windshiled frame
Has anyone run into this yet?
Discovered rust around the recessed channel of the front windshield frame while the glass company was replacing it due to a small road chip. Were it not for them pulling the glass, we never would have known it was there. It's completely undetectable with the windshield in place.
The car is an '05 with about 110K miles on it now. Was purchased about 8 years ago with 30K on the clock, a clean title and clean carfax with no signs of a previous collision or repair. The car has been well cared for and trouble free. Other than this, the body is immaculate and has never been in an accident (that we know of).
Here are some shots taken today.

What brand did you use for replacement windshield, who did you go with (insurance company wanted me to go with safelite, I heard a lot of bad stories about them)?
Did you pay out of your pocket or did your insurance pay for it?
Do you notice any change in the wind noise levels after you got your windshield replaced?
I have a crack across the windshield and I am planning to get it replaced soon, I am waiting for the east coast weather to warm up a bit.

There have been a few members complain about insufficient sealant application around the windshield leading to leaks. This is probably the same root cause. Kinda goes with the territory of machines assembling cars.
